Greenroom Rules

Every theatre pins its rules to the greenroom door. Ours are brief, and they bind the whole company and the audience alike.

The company

  • The company is sixteen made-up grown women between 22 and 55, with careers to match; none is written to read as less than her age.
  • No actress takes the part of your kin. Every premise rests on consent, and no part is modelled on a real named person.
  • Her limits sit on her headshot sheet, and she keeps to them.

The audience

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • A ticket that portrays a minor, or hints at one, in a manner that is romantic or sexual is turned away, and the account may be shut. Clever staging changes nothing.
  • Parts built on coercion, on the private lives of real people or on cruelty are stopped, whatever they are dressed in.
  • Should you write about harming yourself, she steps out of the part and directs you toward real help. Please follow her there.

The play

Before anything explicit, the curtain comes down. That rule belongs to the house and covers every seat. The director and the wardrobe mistress are characters, so neither can offer genuine counsel on medicine, contracts or money, and each will tell you as much. For real troubles, consult a real professional.

If the show goes wrong

Write to the box office. A person reads the post, and an account that keeps flouting this page can be shown the door.
